Cold Porcelain can stiffen up if left for a while but can easilybe rejuvenated again. To soften cold porcelain place it in a air tight container andplace the container in a bowl of hot (not boiling) water for a few minutes and it will softenalmost immediately. If your clay is too soft place in an air tight container andleave it in the fridge for a few minutes and it will become stiffer. Conditionthe clay by kneading it in your hands until it is the right consistency andeasy to work with.

How To Make Cold Porcelain Clay
If you place this type of clay directly in water it willturn into it initial state of a paste like consistency.Storing Clay. It is very important to condition your claywell before making any creations as this will prevent the clay from crackingduring the drying process. Simply knead and work the clay in your hand to warmit up and remove any air bubbles. The length of time to condition the clay willvary with each clay but it is always a good idea to condition it well until itis warm and has an elasticity to it. If your hands and clay are very dry thencoat your hands with Vaseline or moisturising lotion before kneading (Don’t usewater to moisten your hand or the clay). If your clay does show cracks when itis dry then it can be repaired with more clay and then sanded once the repair isdry.
C old Porcelain Paste has been in this country for almost 20 years, I have been teaching different techniques with the paste for 18 years. It is air drying, no kiln or oven is required in the drying process, when dry it is quite hard and durable. The paste can be rolled out and cut with metal or plastic cutters, similar to the way you would work with sugar paste. If making flowers each petal or leave would then be thinned or frilled on the edge with either a ball or needle tool, it can then be placed on the prepared cente, if a flower, or wire if a leaf, a very small amount of PVA glue is used to adhere it in place.
