However, he would rather seal this conference with a chip.“I think it’s about same if I would have won it in either conference,” said Brownlee. “I think the most important is that would make it special is that if we could top it off with a championship.”“Winning that award is a great accomplishment in my career with the respect I have for this league and the imports that played in the league as well,” he adds.It was an award long due for Brownlee’s teammates and coaches considering what he brings to the team.Known to bring and nourish imports in the PBA for three decades already, Ginebra head coach Tim Cone knows a great import when he sees one.

Proof of that is Brownlee’s real strength which is his down-to-earth personality.“We’ve won two championships with him before and he didn’t get the best import award,” said Ginebra head coach Tim Cone. “He is such a special guy, such a gentleman, players love him and it is really exciting for him to win that award.”Joe DeVance feels that Brownlee deserved everything and that his hard work and dedication to one of the most storied franchise in PBA history has finally paid off.“I’m telling you, Justin is a great guy.
He is deserving all that stuff. He does so much for us,” said DeVance.“He is a great guy on and off the court. Great teammate, he is truly amazing. The thing is, he is not selfish. He is passing the ball. He is the best import that I have played with,” DeVance added.
