Postal Service developed the gopost® parcel delivery locker concept to offer customers an easy, convenient, and secure delivery option. The parcel delivery locker pilot was implemented in February 2012, providing customers with a free alternative to use 24 hours a day for parcel shipment and receipt.Traditionally, when a parcel does not fit into a customer’s mailbox, a letter carrier will attempt to deliver it to the customer’s door. The carrier will leave the parcel in a protected location, follow the mailer/addressee’s delivery instructions, attempt a second delivery, or leave a delivery notice instructing the customer to pick up the parcel at the Post Office™. With a gopost parcel delivery locker, however, a registered customer uses a uniquely issued gopost card and personal identification number to ship and receive parcels.

Customers can also receive shipping and receiving notifications through email or text.Office of Inspector General auditors assessed the Postal Service’s parcel delivery locker pilot. We determined the parcel locker concept will increase the Postal Service’s parcel readiness efforts as future online retail growth continues. It will also expand available parcel delivery and shipment options for customers, and give the Postal Service a marketing edge over competitors that do not offer secure parcel locker service. We identified areas of concern involving the gopost registration process, site location criteria, volume targets, and number of parcel pick-up days allowed. The pilot results do not contain strategies implemented internationally for similar locker systems. Exploring greater possibilities with parcel lockers could allow the Postal Service to evaluate additional revenue generating and cost-sharing arrangements and give them a more informed basis for implementing gopost on a broader scale. As Americans do more of their shopping online, the growth in packages is expected to rise. Where do you receive your packages from the Post Office?

Would you use a gopost locker? Let us know on our. Good new story - I was just out here reading about 'Parcel Delivery Locker' issues and cussing because I got the same message from Amazon that many folks here had.

Tracking for package showed 'Delivered to parcel locker' on 8 Dec 16. I live in a community that has a central mailbox (cluster) system and decided to go to the post office when I checked my mailbox and there was no key to check any of the 4 lockers in our street cluster system.

I asked about my package and what parcel delivery locker was and they told my exactly what I stated above. I gave them a copy of the tracking message/number and they said they would research it (10:30am). Well, just had a USPS person from our local office show up at my house (5:30pm). She said my package was delivered to the incorrect parcel locker (another resident locker).new delivery person make mistakes and they going back and trying to fix a lot of incorrect deliveries.Dec 10, 2016. Inspector:All day I've been receiving tracking notifications on two packages.

In the afternoon I received the message that the packages were 'out for delivery'. However, when I got home and checked my box (regular mail box on the street, nothing fancy, doesn't lock, etc.) the only thing delivered was the junk mail circular that always get delivered on Wednesdays. No packages.Around 7:30 pm I checked the tracking status for both parcels again and both now have this message, something I've never seen before in my 52 years of existence:'December 7, 2016, 7:38 pmHeld at Post Office, Retrieved from full parcel locker'.First of all, it sounds grammatically incorrect.

Held and retrieved? The sentence doesn't make any sense. Secondly, the message does not indicate WHO retrieved the packages from the full parcel locker. Who retrieved my mail?

What post office is/was my mail being held at?I want to know where my mail is and why it wasn't delivered to my mail box or to my front door, as usual. When can I expect my packages? Thank you.Dec 07, 2016.

We lose mail every week at Leander TX USPS. This week confirmed delivery by text message USPS that delivery was in parcel box but no key given. Every week neighbors get together to exchange all the mis-delivered mail. Frustrating because some of us get pay checks, others get baby formula. Adding 2-10 days for proper delivery at our make-shift neighborhood exchanges is unacceptable.

We all have unique address numbers so their is no reason to randomly stuff envelopes and packages in mail boxes. Just match the shipping package label to the matching box.Nov 12, 2016. Receiving packages at a GOPOST locker requires a registered GOPOST account.

I have a GOPOST account, and I have used the GOPOST shipping address with my account number and the Merrifield, VA GOPOST location to receive dozens of packages successfully. When one of the packages I had ordered was left in a GOPOST locker I received a message by email on my smartphone that a package was available. I then went to the GOPOST locker facility on the sidewalk outside the post office, scanned my account number with my ID card, entered my password, and retrieved the package from the indicated locker box that was unlocked electronically without any physical key required. The tracking information usually said 'notice left' when a package sent to the GOPOST shipping address was available for pickup. The tracking information for my dozens of GOPOST packages never said 'package left in locker'.

The GOPOST shipping address I used was 1602 GOPOST,#(my account number), Merrifield, VA 22116.Unfortunately, I observed that two other GOPOST locations had technical problems that prevented me from logging in. I think that the systems had overheated in the summer sun. The Merrifield, VA GOPOST location has been relatively reliable, probably because it is next to a USPS technology development engineering facility.Oct 06, 2016.

A package was shipped to me. The tracking status says the item was 'Delivered to a Parcel Locker' in my town.

How do I find out where that is? I've looked up and down my street for a parcel locker but have not found any. I've tried calling our local PO but their number is always busy. I've tried calling the automated 1-800-222-1811 number, but they weren't able to help me without a 20-30 minute wait for a representative, who may or may not be able to help me. There needs to be some web service that will allow me to find out what 'parcel locker' the item was delivered to.Oct 05, 2016.

Had a package delivered today that I was waiting for which I needed for a 40th birthday party that was today. Package was delivered but for some reason the lock box key didn't work again, so I couldn't retrieve my package.

This is the 4th time in the last 2 years that I've had the same issues with the same lock box!!! I'm so irritated and over it.

I wish the USPS could get it corrected since I've left a message for the postal clerk in my mail box with the key each time that I've had problems explaining that the key has issues!!!Oct 02, 2016. We just moved to a new subdivision & all new houses are single family homes with no mailboxes in front of the driveways.

Instead, there a centralized mail system along with these so called 'Parcel Lockers'.When purchasing the house, personally I was somewhat shocked that such a system was put into place as if everyone was living in an apartment complex of sorts. I pretty much have the same complaint as most of the others on here. I get home, no package.

Sender tells me they couldn't deliver it. The rest of my mail was in my mailbox, but no note, and there was no signature required anyway.

It said 'held in a parcel locker'at USPS office in 32223. There is no 'post office' in 32223, only a little USPS place inside of a natural foods store. I guess that's it??? Never picked up any package other than at the 'real' Post Office in 32257. Of course, I can't find out anything from anyone because all I get are automated answers to my calls. That's the main reason we order online, so we can have it delivered to our home!!!Sep 24, 2016.

Parcel Locker Where To Buy One

Just have a question, I sent a few big packages to an address in Riverside CA, According to the tracking numbers, packages were delivered in a parcel locker, my aunt never received a package, as I was reading, the packages are in a parcel locker, my aunt will never be able to go and pick them, what can I do? Will I lose the packages?

Help me please! What's in those packages is very important for me and I spent a lot of money in them!

Could that be possible to get those packages in a different address??Thanks. Please Help me!Sep 15, 2016.

Ditto on the 'good idea, poorly executed'. Expected package, didn't show.

Locker

Checked eBay and status showed DELIVERED TO PARCEL LOCKER two days ago! Firstly, what the heck is a parcel locker? Secondly, that notice is completely useless since they provided no other instructions or phone number - neither eBay nor USPS. No key or notice was in my mailbox. If I didn't go and check status on eBay I would be waiting forever, presumably. So now I have to figure out which of the hundred or so post offices in Clark County to go check. I dread going to those places because after the 10 minute drive I get to stand in line for 20 minutes to ask a question. Which one should I try first?

The one closest to my house? I doubt USPS is that smart if they can't even figure out how to leave a notice.Beyond frustrating. I'm not going to go hunting for my package. I'm going to demand a refund from the eBay seller and let them figure it out. And suggest they don't use USPS anymore.Sep 14, 2016. I tracked my package and it said that it was left in the parcel locker and there was a key in my mail box. I am very upset because the key will not open the locker this has happened many times and am very tired of having to wait by the mail box until the mail person comes to open that locker, I have many other things to do, like go to work.

The things I am sooooo very upset about is that Number 1: this package is very expensive 2: The item in my package is delicate and will be ruined in the hot temperatures of 98 degrees that we have been having. So I suppose i have just wasted my hard earned money on this order!!!! VERY Vert upset and 3 I have on many occasions ask the mail person and the office manager at our apartments to please fix this problem but of course nothing was done about it.Sep 09, 2016. My package was supposedly delivered to the parcel locker in my apt complex. There was no key in my mail box. I've contacted the apt office and the post office. I have a 150 dollar package somewhere, but I have no clue where.

Did they put the key in the wrong mailbox and someone stole the package? Seriously, why?it's 6 months worth of coffee capsules. If you don't have a Nespresso machine, you can't use them. Theft seems unlikely.

So where are they? The post office checked the parcel boxes again. The one she supposedly put it in is empty. Ugh, makes so sense. It looks like I'm out a lot of money due to the employee's mistake. What can I do?Aug 27, 2016Pages.
