The passenger front and rear side floor is soaked with water. I tried to dry it the best I can, but theres a pocket of water I can't seem to get to on the rear passenger side floor. I think it managed to get get under the plastic flooring?I called my insurance company (USAA) and I've already made an appointment to get this addressed. Has anyone had this problem before? What was your experience with this?

Just get the water out as soon as you can. It's rain (aka fresh water), so rust and corrosion shouldn't be an issue, so long as you get the water out soon.It won't be enough for a claim (experience, I buy these kinds of cars all the time).If you want to remove the carpeting, you don't have to remove everything.I'd start with the back.The back seat bottom cushion is all one piece. Lift under it until you find the point where it mounts into the car (there are two, one mount point at either end that are typically towards the middle of each outer seat).Then, remove the lower panel (on the floor between the door and the carpet - says 'BMW' on it, or 'M' if you have an M car). These clips are flimsy. I'd use a two-pronged fork tool to pry under each clip/mount separately. You could do it with a flat head, just be extra careful.At this point you should be able to move enough of the carpet out of the way to get under it (from the back side, anyway).

And because why the hell not, if you want to move the front portion of the carpet out of the way,Remove the lower panel in the frontRemove the kickpanel that is in front of that lower panel ( )I haven't stripped an e60 in a while. So I don't remember if you'll have to remove the panel on the underside of the dash to get the carpet out. You very well may have to.Then work your way around to lift the carpeting up from the front. If this isn't enough, and you need more slack to remove the carpet, then you'll have to remove the seat. That's relatively easy, though.Good luck!Also: While it isn't enough for a claim, if you make a big stink about it, maybe the insurance company will pony up to have the carpet removed and cleaned by a shop/detailer. But because you're at fault, I wouldn't really recommend that (increased premiums, and all that jazz). All there is on that side of the car is the seat module (which is attached to the underside of the seat, not low enough for rain water in the carpet to affect it). The other two modules you see on the passenger side are the Body Control Module (very important hahaha) and the Comfort Access module (if you have it) - but those are suspended up behind the glovebox.Hopefully that eases your mind, a bit.:). Sun 15 Dec 2013 14:13BMW 3 Series - Headlight condensation - bathtub tomThe problem with drying them using a hair dryer is the warm air could hold quite a lot of water vapour.When I had this problem, I waited until a day when the relative humidity was low (you need some way of measuring it). Remove the bulb and holder, use the hair dryer on warm, blowing it inside the headlamp. Do this for some time after all the condensation disappears. Turn the hair dryer to cold and continue to blow it in the headlamp until everything is cool. This way you ensure the headlamp is filled with cold, dry air which is capable of holding less vapour than warm air.This method worked for me for several years, but I notice condensation's starting to return on the inside of the lens on particularly cold and wet days.

I presume the air inside the headlamp expands and contracts when the lights are used and the air inside gradually becomes more humid due to the vent in the bulb holder. I guess there has to be a vent somewhere in the headlamp to allow the air to expand and contract as it warms and cools.Unless of course you do have a hole in headlamp that's allowing water in.
